Terms of use.

The terms that apply when you buy a TapCare band and create an emergency profile for your child, in plain English.

Last updated 25 October 2026

1.What TapCare is, and isn’t

TapCare makes wristbands that open an emergency profile you create. It’s a tool to help the people around your child act quickly and correctly.

TapCare is not a medical device, an emergency service or a monitoring service. In an emergency, always call 000. Allergy Response follows the order of the ASCIA First Aid Plan for Anaphylaxis as general guidance only. It is general information, not medical advice, and it never replaces your child’s own doctor-signed action plan. Always follow the instructions of emergency services and your child’s treating doctors.

ASCIA (the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy) has not endorsed TapCare and does not provide this service.

2.Orders and payment

Prices are in Australian dollars. We currently deliver only to Australian addresses, with free tracked shipping, and no GST is added at checkout. Payment is taken on Stripe’s secure checkout page.

An order is confirmed only after Stripe reports a successful payment, not merely when your browser returns to TapCare. We email your receipt once it’s confirmed.

Stock isn’t reserved while you check out. If two payments at the same moment mean we can’t supply every item in a paid order, we cancel and refund that whole order automatically and let you know.

3.Accounts after checkout

You may buy as a guest. After a successful payment, we create or link a TapCare account for your checkout email and send a secure sign-in link. You can set a password later. Shipping doesn’t depend on opening the account.

4.Shipping, returns and refunds

Delivery times and costs are set out in our shipping policy. Change-of-mind returns within 30 days and faulty bands are covered in our returns and refunds policy.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

5.Your responsibilities

  • Keep your account details accurate and your password private.
  • Only add information about children in your care, and only with the legal authority to do so.
  • Upload only documents you genuinely hold, including your child’s own signed action plan, and keep the profile up to date.
  • Check that the band fits well and opens the profile, and mark it as lost in your dashboard straight away if it goes missing.

6.Lifetime access

Each band includes access to its emergency profile for the life of the band, with no subscription and no expiry. If we ever need to change how the service works in a way that matters to you, we’ll tell you first and give reasonable notice.

7.Fair use

Don’t use TapCare to impersonate anyone, to store information you’re not authorised to store, or to try to access other families’ profiles. We may suspend accounts that put other families at risk.

8.Liability

To the extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable law, TapCare isn’t liable for outcomes arising from reliance on the service in place of appropriate medical care. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that can’t be excluded by law.
